From American Expeditionary Forces Overseas Director Rabbi Elkan Voorsanger to the Assistant Provost Marshal asking them to give Private Murray J. Marcus permission to attend Passover Services.  With all the seals and permissions granted!

Rabbi Elkan Voorsanger was known as “Th Fighting Rabbi,” because he insisted on being with the soldiers in the front lines where he could provide support and help, even getting wounded himself and earning the Purple Heart and French Croix de Guerre in 1918.
